The LM3481 device employs a fixed frequency, Pulse Width Modulation (PWM), current mode control architecture. An external sense resistor senses the peak current through the external MOSFET in a typical application circuit.The voltage across this resistor is applied to the ISEN pin.This voltage is subsequently level shifted and sent into the PWM comparator's positive input.The output voltage is additionally monitored via an external feedback resistor divider network and sent into the negative input (feedback pin, FB) of the error amplifier (EA).The error amplifier's output (COMP pin) is added to the slope correction ramp and supplied into the PWM comparator's negative input.
